I took a quick look at the Haxby site, but saw nothing like this "5" that I have. What happened here?

That's an odd looking 5 Bill, I have never seen one like that yet is that a hit on the front on the curve

I believe it to be delamination. Look at the extra metal on the knob and the field holes right of the knob...I think the split was caused by some impurity in the mix maybe. Fun one......Uncle Bill you should give that one to me because you hate errors.......lolol

papel ... no, there's no hits anywhere. A agree with a delamination that got taken off one coin and stuck in the die, and, when it struck the next coin, transferred to that coin..

I agree with nickelsguy it looks like some lamination issue going on.
If you show the whole reverse someone will be able to nail down which Haxby number it is.
With using just the "5" as the marker it could be a J11 reverse, here's the picture of the J11 date from the Haxby site.

That is truly unique.
I have not found one like that yet.
I was just wondering if any one knows of a re-punched 5 in the P group of Haxby sight.
