I'm going through some Proof rolls and came across this damage/doubling on the Reverse of this Quarter. Just curious what could have caused this. Thanks!

Proof coins often show a slight doubling because they are struck twice.

That's Machine Doubling. Size of devices have been reduced.

On ebay you can buy coins that were broke up from sets. I prefer to buy them in the cellos, as they are less likely to have finger prints. Also on the older proof coins in the 1960's they tend to tone nicely in the cellos.
