Would somebody in the Coin Community be able to provide some kind of grade and value to the pictured Elizabeth I shilling, as well as to identify its type? Frank

Very nice coin!

Mintmark is the Woolpack, dating it to 1594-96. Sixth issue shilling, S2577 in the Spink book.
The book suggests £100 in F and £450 in VF. I would grade yours somewhere between, towards the top end - the portrait is excellent for an QE1 shilling, but there is some flattening to the devices on the reverse and around the edges.

Paddy said it all I think, but it is quite common for these portraits to completely disappear. These coins are cool, they have age and a superstar monarch.

I really like the portrait. As DavidUK says, many of the portraits disappear. Unfortunately all my Elizabeth I coins have weak portraits.

Nice coin, it is all about the portraits on these and yours is lovely. I've seen worse graded at VF so yours can't be far off.
