I picked this up for $2.00 or so a few months ago out of a junk bin. Finally pulled it out of the stack to see what it grades. Can it go higher than Fine? Thanks!

I saw that too USSID. It looks better in hand, so it may be market acceptable even if it was. Thanks everyone!

Still a nice looking coin for that year. What are your plans for that coin?

USSID, I will either hang on to it and put it in my collection or sell it at some point. Washington's aren't my favorite series, but I pull nicer coins (or varieties) out when I can. Thanks again!

I do actually, but I'm considering breaking it up. I have barely any complete (just the 30's, some 40's) and a lot of it is in rough shape. If I do decide to continue the album, I want some better coins . For now, I may just focus on varieties.

I can understand that. I guess you're looking for these:

Many years ago, I focused on completing a set 1932-1980, all AU or better. Not Varieties.

I had a 39-S DDO in my album for many years and didn't know it! That's embarrassing! It came out of a straight graded PCGS MS64 slab. I never even thought of doubling checking it until recently, when I started looking much closer at my coins!

Makes me wonder if the submitted or PCGS knew or even cared.

The moral of my story is; check and double check your coins for varieties and errors.

I am always looking for the big 5: The 1934, 1937, 1942-D, 1943, and the 1943-S DDOs. I also search far and wide for the 1936 FS-101, 1942 FS-104, and multiple other CPG (cherrypicker's guide) varieties. I cherry-picked the 1942-D FS-101 a while ago in XF, and sold it. Now I am hunting down the other biggies-which I plan to keep this time.

The 1939-S DDO you mentioned: Which DDO was it? I would certainly be surprised but also happy if I discovered a DDO in my collection I didn't know about. Did you hang on to it?

Sorry for such a long reply-I got carried away listing my most-wanted quarter varieties . Thanks again!
