Strickly an amature coin collector. I started when I was a kid back in the mid-1960's with the help of my grandfather, back when you could go to a coin show and buy a BU
Morgan dollar for $3.50. I remember the day I pulled a 1914-D
Lincoln Cent from my school lunch money. Anyway, I quit when I graduated college and had to work and raise a family. Now, I'm back, but still want to keep it amature, updating all my collections of modern American coinage and pulling interesting things from circulation. I just completed my
Peace dollar collection. I had UNC of the key dates years ago but never bothered to go back to get the others. Last year I was handed an 1800 Austrian coin in change as a quarter dollar. Last Fall I was handed several "W" quarters at a McDonalds. This month I finished going through $1500 in pocket change I'd been throwing in a bucket for 20 years. What else would you do when "self-isolating"? I have a few questions. :)
