I purchased a set of LMC and as my practice, started checking the year dates of interest and found this interesting 1970 LD. Check out the date.

The seven looks tripled to me but I think it's Machine Doubling,I'm no xpert though.

Yes, my impression is MD as well...some kind of die chatter during strike or ejection?
I've found a few 70-S LD with similar damage.

Yeah, I agree with no problem, But it is one of the most interesting I have seen. There
is just a tiny amount of doubling on the motto, none visible on liberty.

This one will stay with my collection as I really like the pattern. Good Karma!.

Yes, that's all Machine Doubling - not a doubled die...just like Mike said.

Ths case appears to be die bounce with two bounces causing a tripling effect.
