Hello! I'll start by thanking anyone who cares to comment and state that I'm a complete novice at coin collecting and only came across this coin as I was counting some of my face value junk silver.
In looking at my Kennedy half dollars, I came across a coin that is unlike any of the others I have. It has a satin like finish and just looks "different". I'm hoping someone here can tell me what I'm looking at.
It almost looks like It's minted out of a different material, as you'll see the coin on the right looks odd compared to then one on the left, which is like every other 1964 Kennedy half dollar I have. Thank you I advance for you comments and expertise.

Probably dipped in jewelry cleaner. If it were a proof, its an impaired one now. Check and see if on the reverse there is a mintmark:

Almost certainly not an SMS example?

(I thought it would be worth asking the question, I don't know the answer.)
Rest in Peace

Wow! You guys are great for the input already! I couldn't find any "D" marking on it. Here's a picture of the backside of it. It really seems different than the others.

I'm still leaning towards impaired proof. It does have silver value if nothing else.

I appreciate everyone's input and willingness to comment. You all sure know your stuff! So, it sounds like this is just a run of the mill 90% silver Kennedy half dollar that oddly tarnished differently than the others.
Is that what you mean by impaired proof?

An impaired proof is a coin that was minted as a proof coin that got into circulation.

Does an impaired proof have any more or less value than a normal 90% silver coin?

Same value if impaired.
