This edge is the picture of a 2009D William Henry Harrison and the top is also the same president and mint. Why are they different? I have went through almost a whole box of these and have only seen 2 with this edge on them. Is it anything special or just a minor issue? Would love any information thanks.

Looks like the second one was pressed against the ballistic when the pallet was "dropped" and the weight of all the other coins pressed the coin against the bag hard enough to impress the fabric weave into it.

It is actually a legit mint struck edge variation that cover's the entire circumference of the coin and was discovered back in the 2007 on some of the golden dollars. It is a so called " Matte Finish Edge"
Back in 2008 Ken Potter did an article on " Edge Variations" including this one, you can find the article in the link below, quite interesting and not too many new collectors know about it.

It became popular and collectors started paying a premium for it and now the interest seems to have faded away!

Hail24, a word of advise: never hold your coins with bare hand, the skin oil will permanently stay and damages the coin.

Chase007 Thanks so much. I was thinking it had to be something different because only two of the coins have it and I went through an entire $1000 box of them. Also I do have thin rubber gloves on you just can't tell in the picture. I always wear them but need to order more if anyone knows where. Coinsupplyexpress is out. Thanks again for the information and opinions everyone!

That is ok Chase I appreciate the advice either way and it is hard to tell because they are thin and I can see in the picture how it looks like I don't have any on.
