*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***

This mint mark looks just like the younger brother of the one listed in Variety Vista!(This is the case when the younger looks older! )
But maybe I am wrong! The markers do not match.

Does not look like a RPM to me.

Thank you, John1! I have serious doubts about it too, but it looks so similar to the listed one in VV that I thought maybe just the tear and wear of the die! But no problem, I keep looking!

Look more closely at the side by side you posted. The RPM is not referring to the inside of the loop, but the top of a fainter D sticking up northeast of the main mintmark.

It was created with the same damaged punch that makes the mintmark. But note on the description on this die, it is a North that John1 pointed out.

That area north is the RPM. The rest of the mintmark is just from the damaged punch. (A lot of these look like that, that year. Some better, some worse)

Thank you all for pointing out the mistake I made! Inattentiveness, that's it by my part! The scope did show a faint, thin line above the mark and that made me think that this might be an RPM, but that line does not show up in the pictures! But you are right,I checked it again and it is not even close to the shadow on the real RPM in VV. So it's not an RPM. Maybe next time!
