Not only do I like to collect coins, I also metal detect on occasion. I happened upon this 1883 V-nickel (w/CENTS) with a major die crack on the date. Not worth anything (unless someone REALLY needed it), but still really neat. This was part of what looked like someone's stash of coins, as I found it with a bunch of Indians, Barber halves, quarters and dimes (2 of which were 1895-O, unfortunately pretty corroded/possible fire damaged), among others. I was quite excited that day, to say the least.

Great find for sure. Agree there's not much value here, but what a kick it must have been to unearth it!

The Canadians are too polite to say anything.
