I heard about the 2019-D having some errors and decided to crack open a box of them. The first roll had this coin. Both sides look doubled. What do I have here?
IMO...looks like split plate doubling or die deteriorating doubling...no added value....you can use the search box to find examples of both...good luck on future finds...
The double light source is making you think there's something there, when there isn't. The overall size of the devices are normal. On the 2019 cents, the '9' gets people seeing something, but that is just the design that year.
Thank you everyone. I do have two light sources. The LED and a lamp. I did not know that would cause this. I also saw a link to a large amount of Machine Doubling pics. I am confused what a double die is now. Is there a thread on a bunch of Double Die pics. Thanks again everyone
http://www.varietyvista.com/01e%20L...9PDDO001.htm Look at the 001 description and look at those areas for the enlargement of the devices. Then you will see what your missing on enlarged devices. On the single squeeze dies that they use now, the doubled dies are look like over inflated bike tubes. Seeing images of a normal and a doubled die side by side will help train your eyes.
