I was questioning it, cause first of all it looked different and secondly, 1989 was the the year when they changed the shape of the "G". Was wondering, and thought maybe, this was an "experimental" adaptation, or whatever.
LilBlue, When you say (experimental) do you mean the FG of 1988 on a 1989?,if so then I think your 1989 has the normal FG for that year but I do see doubling on the FG on your coin but I am no expert,nice find though. John1
