Found this , and a few others, with no mint mark. What is the deal? I expected to find a mint mark somewhere. This is not mentioned in the 2021 Red Book. Thanks for your insights!

to CCF. no mint mark means it was minted at the Philadelphia mint.

In 1980 the mintmarks on certain coins for the Philly mint were started with the 'P'. (Except cents, just 2017 is the only year cents have a 'P' mintmark)

Thank You all for the Hellos! I have viewed many quarters (post 1964, I never see silver in circulation anymore) as I collect the States and Commemoratives. I have a dozen or so from 1965 to 1979 with no mintmark. Can any of you seasoned professionals tell me what years these Washington quarters had no "P"? Might they have 'D' or 'S'?

I purchase $250.00 worth from two banks and I did find 1 with the 'W' ! Had to search online to learn about the Great American Coin Hunt. Thanks again for your responses. It keeps these forums (I belong to a few) alive and well !!

All Coins struck in Philadelphia before 1980 have no mintmark. (exceptions are warnickels 1942 - 45, and 1979 P SBA dollars.

All coins struck in Philadelphia 1980 and later have a P mintmark except the cents. The only year philadelphia cents have a mintmark is in 2017.

Coins struck 1965 - 67 have no mintmark no matter which mint struck them.
