I was quite bummed to miss out on the last 83 S I was looking at , so I got the back up,. to me it looks like it has the best detail over the rest of I have been looking at in the grade. Though the photos are a little dark. It should arrive Friday . If I don't like it I will look for a replacement down the road . I will get a few more pictures once it arrives.   |

My guess is AU50'ish.
Too dark to determine luster and originality. Post again when it gets here.

will do , this one grades at 55 , does seem to have good detail compared to many of the 55's I have seen but yeah pics are dark to tell a lot

the 83(S) is typically sharp and bold. this one is pretty decent with just a little weakness around the ear. no deductions there. most of the luster is gone. lots of chatter across all fields and devices. technically AU58 for wear but I'm at AU55 due to the above. I think the overall eye on this one is better than AU53 but I would not pay full AU55 $ for it

I think it meets AU-55 grade, but I don't like the rubbing in the field over the eagle's head on the reverse.

thanks ill try and get some better pics tomorrow as the photo is dark so to me its hard to tell the luster and determine what marks are on the coin

I think AU-55 is the correct grade for this coin, there's still luster but wear is apparant

Looks about right. If you are happy is really all that matters.
