Hello Coin Community

What do you all think about this penny? I haven't seen this before.

Either way, it's still a blazer. I'm thinking around MS 66 to 67.

These appear to be bubbles underneath the copper layer, not an uncommon appearance. If you poke it with a toothpick, it should depress.

Agreed, but if it does not depress, and stays solid, it is indeed a die or coin gouge.

I found the same thing on my 92 D! I have googled, Ebayed, ECT until I felt like I was going crazy and couldn't find anything until this post. I'll try to add some pics of mine because they don't "pop" they are solid but also I have a bit more than just that 1 spot.

tabbyjane,
to CCF. Always best to start your own thread. Your coin has a linear trail gas bubble also. They do not always "pop",some times they are hard debris between the copper plating and the zinc core.
