I noticed this when I looked at my picture from another post. It seems like this is a die crack or extra metal that makes it appear that the Eagle found dinner. At first I thought this was part of the design. Has anyone else seen this in their 1964 D 25C or 1965 D 25C ?

Definitely not a variety. Possibly a minor die clash with Washington's neck ("spitting eagle" as they're sometimes called).

a friend called it more like a tape worm - minor clash is good, definitely different and in our world, different can be better

Maybe it's on a foreign planchet?
