Your picture isn't very good, but from your description it sounds like indirect die transfer. This is from Die Deterioration which leaves a "ghost" of Lincoln on the reverse of the coin. Better pictures would verify it.

Your photo is so small, we can barely tell it's a penny. You have to find a way to enlarge your photos so we can clearly see both sides and close-ups of question areas, and CROP your photos tightly too! Best of luck, we're anxious to see your coin. to the CCF!

@jobson, your pics don't have to be perfect, but they do need to be a little better for us to help you. When I rotate, crop, enlarge, and enhance this current pic, I can't see very much: I look forward to seeing what you have there.

They should make people read the sticky and have to acknowledge it before posting.

Well @kw419, we were all new to the website at one point or another, so let's not forget that we need to be warm and welcoming as we suggest way for new folks to improve their posts.

He will improve with time the longer he is on the forum. Let that come naturally and provide help, rather than criticize and ward off new members.

So warding off new members is having them read a sticky post about posting coins? ...cool bud.

Just knock it off please. I won't get into an argument as it's clear you aren't having a good day.
Just please educate the new members, rather than criticizing them.

You can download the ProCamera app which may help your picture taking. The key point is to get closer and zoom in.

What he is trying to show is called Progressive Indirect Design Transfer: (PIDT) It is die breakdown. You can see it on Nickels and Memorial Cents, but is most common on wheat cents. I think 1944 is the most common one to find.
