This was in my grandmother's collection that I have and need opinions please. I would like to get this graded and possibly auction, but have been told It could be post mint damage. I have been studying coins the last 3 years , Leading me to believe it is a die cap from being struck more than once at the mint, but need to know is it worth paying the price to get it graded. Thank you all in advance for your honest opinions.

PSD. The coin was altered in circulation. Note the rim on the edge of the coin. It is there, so the coin was normal at one point. Now a damaged coin. Spender. When it gets back at the bank, it will be pulled from circulation.

Sorry to tell you this but this is Post mint damage.

Looks like someone tried to "push/punch" this through a pipe of some sort. they set the dime on a piece of pipe(?), reverse side down, and beat something round onto the obverse side. The damage is evident on both sides.

Well it is still worth a dime. But back when she saved, 10 cents was worth more then than now. So best not to hold on to face value coins too long.
