Is this a 2 Reale? About the size of a U.S. nickel. Also, I have been told it is dated 1670. I don't know the mint. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hmm interesting. The first thing I must ask relates to the color. Is the color due to the scan or is it actually that golden color?

It's a 2 real from Potosi dated 1670. I assume it is silver color and weighs around 6.75 grams? No claim to authenticity without weight and actual color but looks good otherwise.

Archraz, the color is due to the scan. The coin is a silver color. jfransch, I will weigh, and get back to you. Dave.

Nice shape and not much edge splitting. The denomination looks like a 1 to me. If it is I'd expect weight around 3 grams - looks like a fair amount of seawater corrosion.
