Just an N that has been nicked in circulation. If you hit an upper case N on the middle of the left leg and it caves inward, it looks like a backwards K.

That sure is a clean hit though—virtually nothing left behind showing the original shape. Perhaps it circulated for a while after being damaged. Also, welcome to CCF @dal317.

When you go buy a book for storing you cents, you will not find a U.S. Book that says it is for pennies, just ones for cents. When you see rolls of Pennies, they also show 1C for cents. But it seems that the people who call them pennies, are not really collectors. Thus I call them for what they are. Cents.
