Help-Appreciated-Identifying-Possible-Coin-From-India

Hello. Any help identifying this object would be appreciated. It may not be a coin at all. Weighs 5 grams. Non magnetic. 1 inch by 1 inch. Found in the home of my Uncle, who lived in India for 5 years. Thanks.

@bae, first welcome to CCF. Second, while it is pretty worn, it looks to me like this piece is actually a temple token.

Seems to have the remains of a button-type fitting on the back.
