This seem like a tough one to grade. I'll start and guess AU Details - cleaned. I see major hairlines on the obverse

Hello My opinion that this coin would grade ms64 65 full steps, does not warrant to be graded by 3rd party. But if others see it as a higher than 65, by all means get it graded. Have a wonderful day and take care. Bob

Agree with mojomanbob! This is a fairly nice coin. Hairlines or striations are part of the hub polishing. (looks to natural for cleaning) Also, it appears to have Partial or possibly Full Steps on the reverse. Closer pic would be helpful. Don't think this would grade higher than a MS64 IMHO. Even with FULL STEP designation at a MS64 not worth the dough in money value to have slabbed graded. 64fs-65fs about 20.00 to 25.00 Good Luck On Your Coin!

Really clean looking example with some interesting hub polishing. I'm at MS-65 on this one.

Surfaces do not look typical for that era, but that might be to excess sharpening of the photo. MS64 if the surfaces are original.

I have a whole plastic tube full of these they seem to be all ran from the same die I mean they're not all exactly the same some have some better steps than others but they all in really nice shape like this one which just a few different traits to differ. These were my grandpa's I honestly believe they were put inside that tube in the 70s and I just open them recently . I'm only saying that because I have numerous different years in mint locations and the latest one I have is 1970 which that one is also a beautiful coin. All Jefferson nickels.

Wondering if the coin's light 'textured' look is caused by the resolution and any robust processing of the photos posted. Would love to see the coin in-hand. I do see light wear. Not convinced the coin has been cleaned.
I'm thinking a strong AU58. In-hand could take it to MS63.

It's a nice coin with good steps, but it has taken a few good hits. I'm somewhere around AU-58 to MS-60.
