Hi All,

I need some tips about how to get a good photo of a Proof coin.
I always have problem with the light reflection.
The best pic I can acheive most of the time the coin would show the camera lense in the field.

Here are some of my trials, I would appreciate any tips.

Thanks

Amr,
Have you tried "axial lighting"? If you do a subject search on it you will see it discussed in previous posts. All it involves is shooting through an angled piece of glass. The glass reflects all the glare away from the lens.

Also, do you have a means to "preview" the shot before you take it? I do this with proofs and try to get the lighting so that the fields are dark and the devices stand out in contrast.

Dave,

I'll have to do some search on "axial lighting" because I really no nothing about it.

Regarding the "Shot preview", if you mean through the digital camera screan yes, but not as a final pic.

(try to get the lighting so that the fields are dark and the devices stand out in contrast.)

I'll try this, and hope it works, Thanks Dave
