I just recently got into penny hunts a few months ago and have looked through nearly $500 worth. I'm going to be posting a lot of coins here that I think are double dies or errors. Like I said I'm new and I know there are differences between errors and varieties and that there are some types of errors that aren't of value. I hope I can get some advice, guidance, and opinions on my coins. Thanks

The date and Liberty look doubled to me but I'm new so I could be wrong. Besides that, I'm curious what kind of grade this coin is in if anyone could post about that as well. I can try to get a full picture of the coin front and back if requested.

Nothing is doubled. All the cents that year look just like that. That was the last year for the master hub. The hub was swelling outwards, making the bust and the devices larger. Even the devices were affecting the rim area. In 1969 they created a new master hub and the size of the devices were back to normal. When you see the coins side by side you will see what I'm talking about.
1968-D-Penny-DDO?-New-Penny-Hunter-Here When they change the master hub you can tell as the coins on the previous year looks normal, of if this happens during a year, you will have large and small date coins:

Please learn more about errors and varieties before you "post as much as I can." There is a lot of information to be found within our little community here.

I have been doing as much learning as I can, I just started a few months ago. In between caronageddon and actually hunting it's difficult to learn everything there is about coins. I hope I can learn from the coin masters here

For quick subjects finds for various subjects, click on this thread: CoopHome . Note it turns blue? There's three pages of links on subjects of topics that will interest you. Some threads have up to 200 images. If you find one you really like. Add a comment and it will bring it back up to the top of the list. Others may appreciate what you find interesting. A lot of information with explanations. That is the best way to learn. I seldom give yes or no answers, but share what I see on images. That way you see what I see.

Thanks for that info coop. Ill take all the help I can get. I have done quite a bit of research in a short time but sometimes it's really difficult to tell differences. In 4 months it's almost impossible to know everything about errors and each years differences in errors but I'm trying my butt off.
