I thought I had posted this question before but can't find my post so I am trying again. I am trying to find out if there is any variety to this cent. I have heard the terms 8/7, open E on reverse, large/small letters, and something about numbers on the eagle's neck? I am at a loss to see what there may be here as I have nothing to compare it to.

thanks for your help
malissa

Hi Malissa,
It looks to be an 1858 "Large letters" in Fine. I don't see any markers for the varieties I know of this year.
However, Rick Snow has a very good online resource you might enjoy checking out.

Hi,
Yep, It looks like a "normal" 1858 Large Letters variety as mentioned.

Thanks,
Bill

Agreed with Bill & Kurt, LL variety.
No other varieties or errors of note.
