It has the same pale grey look that my stealies have. Not being MS ofcourse. This coin shows no zinc rot but does have lines that arent scratches. Weighed in at 2.52 grams. I have a '59 like this and come to find out it was dipped in Mercury.... Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/12/2020 11:05 am Is that copper color under N on cent? There's a few videos on YouTube about adding zinc over the plating. But the surface looks smooth like an unplated planchet. Look closely to see if any copper is showing? The area I questioned looked a different color there. See if it shows the same thing on the other side? If so it may have been dipped into a substance that altered the coin, or was not kept safe if it were an unplanted planchet? The obverse lines are concerning to me. Reverse is not showing it. It could be rolling lines, or chemical movement if dipped into a solution. So keep it safe for now. I did not wipe the coin off or even dab at it because of it possibly being something more than PMD until someone such as yourself could put a label on it. So I'm guessing that was just remaining from whatever was on the coin when I found it Coop. I want to get you closer images because I'm seeing numbers/letters.
