A coin I'm bidding on. Surprisingly, no reserve. Auction photos. This is a regular strike, not a proof.

Here's another pic with some more light to help with the grading.

Strong MS64. In the last photo the coin appears to be in a holder--is it already graded?

While roll searching I come across MS63-65 LMCs from the mid-80s with some regularity. I wouldn't say they are plentiful in that condition, but they're out there.

Also surmising based on the TPG grade (PCGS) that the "T" mark on the forehead is something with the original dies, or possibly on the holder, not post mint damage. May be a bit overgraded, which would explain why they are letting it auction with no reserve. This one does not have a CAC bean.

So far Thad is the closest. I'm high bidder on it but don't think I'll be for long.
Rest in Peace

Top pop. I'm high bidder for the moment but probably not for too long.
