Hello community,

I have a friend who is allowing me to search his collection and he has like 100 barr notes in a stack. They are circulated and some are in decent shape. He's willing to sell to me but looking for some guidance on whether or not to sell them all together, singular, by city printed or just pass on them?

Also, there is a barr star note as well. Not a fancy number but a star note none the less. How much do these hold a premium.

Any advice will be great.

No pictures attached just curious.

Although Joseph Barr's 28 day tenure was short, everybody and their brother speculated on the potential future value of 1963B $1 FRNs and many were saved. Complete packs of 100 uncirculated notes can be purchased for under $300, and complete block sets sell for $25-$40. Selling on ebay is probably your best bet mostly because of the vast amount of inexperienced collectors that frequent that venue. My complete block set of $1 1963B FRNs including the replacement notes in uncirculated condition.

Steve,

I have
5-J block
8-b block
17-e block
8-L block
72-g block

Would that mean I have at least 8 full blocks that can be sold as a unit based on providence?

Great block set, Steve.

And great explanation. I often see auctions touting Barr notes and have wondered what the hubbub is all about. Apparently, not much.
