1998 Lincoln Cent Possible Floating D And Errors?

Hello all! This is my first post here. I've collected pennies of every variety for a long time and recently stumbled across this strange one. It looks like there is a floating D above the date but I would really like another opinion. I also believe it to be just badly beaten up but the edge of the reverse of the coin has an odd look to it for it to be just damaged. Thanks in advance for your input! Photos provided.

Just a badly damaged coin. The "D" is just natural damage to the coin that happens to be a familiar shape.

Thank you! I figured it was just damaged but I think I've been looking for errors too hard today. I feel a lot better in putting in in my spending change now! :)
