Ugly to many but not to me. Wish the scans turned out better though. In hand white in the center and blue/black as they approach the rims.

Pulled them out of an uncirculated date set in a good old snap tight holder today. What can I say? I like the "ugly" toned coins. (The Franklin was just plain nasty though).

Don't know what it is folks I see coins like this and if they're cheap I buy them. The boss is one of the "blast white" guys
Morgans he'll sell at a premium for tone but has little respect for other toned coins. Kind of works to my advantage.

Told him I was interested in these today and he kind of laughed and gave them to me. Worked for me.

I like silver coins that obviously weren't dipped.

I have a los angeles olypmic proof set that toned weirdly but I still like it. Especially the dollar! Toning doesn't bother me at all unless its so dark I can't see proper details.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or in this case, coinholder. Coins are art, both in original design and what has happened to them since minted. For example, the best looking Bust Halves are the ones worn to VF\EF with deep gray toning. IMHO of course.
