This is my fathers collection. Have no idea where to start. Sorry for the duplicate posting but I am not forum savvy.

Look through it for any possible silver coins or older coins. Set them aside and simply google them. Ie. 1923 USA quarter. Based on what I see this is a low value modern collection. There could be some gems in the lot but you will have to look through each coin.

Not a collection. Looks like he travelled a lot . What you have is referred to as an accumulation of tourist money.
Do have fun going through it . Always interesting to learn about other countries .

Some of the banknotes are redeemable-Canada and the United Kingdom for instance, although they would not be taken by the currency exchanges as they are too old. If they are in pristine shape there could be a small collector premium.

I see some US coins which most likely can just be spent.

I don't see anything special; most of it looks like the kind of coins that would be sold in lots by weight, or in cheap bargain bins.

I'm tempted to say that the most valuable coin is the Canadian toonie, but I think the most valuable coin I actually see is the one with the upside-down eagle at 1 o'clock, which is a German 5 mark and .625 silver (so worth about $4-5).
There might of course be something even more valuable than that hiding somewhere in the glare or the lower layers.

I think I'd hire some kid to sort them out for me. First by country.
