I just pulled this 1955 D (RPM) and when I went to look it up on Lincoln site, wexlers, coppercoins variety vista, I don't see anything close to this. Could I be onto something here? Please advise...Thanks so much in advance. There is a bunch of gunk around the RPM but it is still pretty obvious.I would like to clean this area up around the date and mint mark. Should I do? I'm calling this Stage A. I've soaked coins in solvent Acetone I believe. Should I do this so the RPM can be a bit more pleasing to the eye? Report this Post to the Staff

I personally wouldn't do anything to "improve" this coin prior to putting it into a 2x2 for storage, but many folks do like the acetone bath.
