1958 Wheat Penny Found - Coin Community Forum

My first guess is that it was probably either dipped in acid or badly damaged/worn, which would account for the lost weight. There is a small chance it was struck on the wrong planchet, but we would need pictures to say whether or not that's likely/possible. Report this Post to the Staff
