1926 Buffalo nickel in rough shape. Has a large gouge on obverse and reverse. Some rim damage, and what looks like part of a letter on the edge? Thoughts?

No letter on edge, just PMD. Good luck finding better coins.

I posted this because I am obviously very new to coin collecting and thought coin collectors could offer greater knowledge than the onslaught of youtube videos, error variety articles, and auction prices. No need to be elitist to a clearly new member.

Greasy is a good person and I am sure meant no harm. I am sure you're just trying to learn, and hopefully you are. Best of luck in finding nicer coins, but good or bad, we're here to help.

I'm sure it was just a common case of not being able to hear tone over text. No hard feelings at all! I appreciate everyone's help :)

Happens way to many times. Actually new members sometimes come up with some fantastic items. Unfortunately yours is sort of a really hurt coin.
