Can you show some full coin photos in natural light? Looks MS-63 RD or better from what I can glean here. Don't worry much about flatness on the high points of the face. Fields aren't going to look that pristine on a circulated coin. The mark to the right of the face is likely a die crack. Check to see if it is raised or indented. If it's a scratch, it would be indented, and that would hold the coin way back.

A new set of photos would help.

While waiting for the full photos, I'd venture MS-63. Is the 'crease' on the obverse raised or sunken?

A bit dark but it seems to be extremely high grade. MS-66 or better.

Anyone have any tips or tricks for best lighting to take full coin photos? This was under a direct light, but I agree it ended up looking dark for some reason. Perhaps I should try with a DSLR instead of my phone. Or get a coin microscope that allows for full coin view. Thanks all!!

Wow, that's a really nice 1964. These are mostly craptastic. I think it's actually a proof and not a business strike. In hand, does it look like this?

Quote: Apologies for forgetting to include full coin photos! Here's some more with flash and no flash. I think what appeared to be a die crack may have been a particle on my microscope or on the coin.
You're pretty close in the picture department for a newbie. Your last set of pictures show potential. I think you mostly have a lighting problem. With coins, using flash is a no-no. It washes out the coin with too much light. Worth spending a little money if you're going to keep taking coin pictures. Here's what I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...BZPVDGHKHGX9

Next, you need to crop your pictures. Also, always use a white background, printer paper works great. I use that lamp and an old, cheap Canon SD700IS. It does great pics for the web:
