Not sure if it's a cataloged variety but this one has virtually no AME on the reverse.

I'll say G-04, possibly G-06.

I'll go with G-6. Falls a little short for a VG.

The coin has seen plenty of circulation over its existence. Likely that 'AME' on the reverse was a soft/weak strike to begin with--perhaps a touch of Grease Filled Die as well. Add many years of wear, and AME is nearly indiscernible.

Overall, I'd say a weak G6.
Rest in Peace

Just barely makes G-06 . I agree with ijn1944 as far as what happened to the AME .

G-4 The master hubs and dies were new in 1916 producing some of the best struck wheat cents ever made....this coin is highly worn.
