1990 Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC Doubled Die Reverse / DDR ? See Radial Pattern Of DD With No Plating

Titles are Important! * Hi All, I am new to coin collecting and am focusing on small cents (Lincoln 1909-present). I came across this 1990 Lincoln Memorial cent and noticed it had a weird radial double stamp effect. The "E PLURIBUS UNAM" seems to be doubled and the "UNITED STATES oF AMERICA" and "ONE CENT" seem also to be doubled going in the outer direction with the memorial and lettering missing plating in the doubled area. Any thoughts or has anyone seen this before and can explain whats happening? Thanks for helping out a new user! Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/23/2020 4:10 pm Split plating. We see that more so on the reverse dies, but on the obverse we see the split plating on the mintmark areas on the 1980's zinc cents. Report this Post to the Staff
