1995 D Jefferson Nickel. 4.76g & Dark Color. Please Help?

The darker color is both on the the obverse, reverse, and edge. And it weighed at 4.76g. Initially I thought ED, but I'm not knowledgable enough to know if ED can bring the weight down like that. Out of curiosity, do you know if there are resources to find Weight Tolerances of specific coins? For example, since the PCGS coinfacts lists the weight of this coin to 5g, i'd guess the tolerance of coin to be +/- 0.2g or 4% the coin's weight? Report this Post to the Staff
Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 05/28/2020 1:08 pm 4% is about the largest the tolerance range gets and for many coins it is much smaller. The ranges of current coins can be found in the law Title 31 Chapter 25 section 5112. Tolerances of uncurrent coin can be found by combing through the Statutes at Large. OR all of them can be found brought together in one place in the Coin World Almanac by Amos Press. Copies can be found on abebooks.com for $7 and up.
