The mark to the east looks like damage. Note the Bottom Edge of the 5 in the date. The die lines are just older die scratches to remove a previous clash. Only handy if they were on a variety coin to ID a match.

The "D" exhibits Machine Doubling damage. I can't tell you what the lines are that you are referring to.

What is key here is knowing what a "normal" D is supposed to look like. If you look at your coin, you can see that the higher portion of the "D" that makes the right side appear doubled, is really metal moved from right to left on the D.

Oddly enough...I disagree.

The 'separation' line on the mintmark is the result of flattening wear. The top of the mintmark is flattened down which makes it contrast with the natural curve of the edge of the mintmark, giving it the appearance of having two punches.

It's a normal coin with wear.
