It refers to how well the 7/8 tail feathers show. These came from many different dies and each one shows varying numbers of the original 8 tailfeather hubbing from 1 or 2 up to something like five or six of the under feathers. The strong 7/8 would refer to one with the high number of under feathers showing. Exactly which VAM (or VAM's) it refers to I can't say, I'm not a VAMer.

Well this isn't my picture so I've sharpened and enlarged the area the best I could starting with a real fuzzy picture. I can see 3 feathers clearly and the one furthest right maybe. Would this be considered "strong"?
