This was my mothers, sure must have been tough times in 1939. The penny was a 1928 not very valuable even today, wonder how many 1909 pennies were ruined in those presses?

ccaps97, a bit of history.
The New York Worlds Fair was originally scheduled for one year.
However, lack of sufficient funds to recoup costs resulted in a spill over to 1940.
While the 1939 Fair was basically educational, the 1940 Fair was mostly for entertainment.

Wonder if you could just reach in your pocket and use the machine at the fair with your own pocket change? Maybe for free?
Actually it cost you 1 cent maybe.
