I usually stay away from Sino or Chinese items as I can read the letters... but this looked interesting, however I need help.

Found this token in a bag of foreign coins, I can not identify (tried google, nope) Non Magnetic, 30 mm two tone Mandarin on Front(silvery cloak & Fur on hat)
10.32 grams reeded edge.

Has Mandarin & a palace, my guess is: Household Good Luck Charm?!

Chinese characters can not be read by me... Can any member help advise me what these characters symbolize?

Doesn't mean we aren't trying... I've got about 45 minutes into this one on numista and zeno.ru, but still have nothing to report.

Can you post a more detailed pic of the writing on both sides? I have a colleague at work who teaches Mandarin but the pics are too small and low res for any use.

The portrait is of the Qian Long emperor, who reigned 1735-1796. It is his name, Qian Long Huang Di ("The Qianlong Emperor").

I can't make out what the two characters beneath the (extremely stylized) building on the reverse are.

It won't be very old; probably not pre-2000. If I had to guess, I'd guess it was part of a set of medals commemorating each of the Qing Dynasty emperors. Such things are commonly seen for sale, both individually and in sets, in the souvenir stalls around historic sites in mainland China.
