Hi can anyone help identify this coin, it has no date on and I can't find any information anywhere, I have seen similar ones with dates on but nothing like this, thanks in advance

It looks to me like a brass gaming counter struck to imitate a George IV coin. Not a coin, but some people collect and study them.

The object in the centre of the reverse is the key to identifying this as a gaming counter. In the early part of the 19th century they came in sets of four for scoring at whist.

It is a card counter from the 1830s to 1840s. The reverse with the spade pip in the garter is paired with a few dies from around that time.

Hi all, firstly, thank you all so much for welcoming me to the community and secondly for such interesting answers. I'm amazed. I'm actually helping my elderly father identify this and have only just got back to him to measure the, now thought to be, gaming counter. It's 22mm in diameter, hopefully this will confirm what you have all discussed. Thank you so much once again, Julie
