Whatever cause the damage at the bottom right of the obverse, also seems to have made the surface metal roll. Wondering what might have caused the damage and the movement of metal?

I agree with you that it is damage and my first thought was that it was partly squished in the jaws of a vise. However, the rim bruises are not directly opposite from each other so then it must be some sort of other mechanical situation. Very interesting how the metal surface between IGWT and George's bust is wrinkled.

Mercy Spence, pretty cool isn't it! DOLLAR has been eliminated by whatever caused the ole boy to bruise. Appreciate your mind.

On the coin toss the coin lost! Just a damaged coin. Not a mint error.

Coop, you have a gift. Almost as if you might have been in my shoes, a long long long time ago. Thanks for your sensitivity in delivering truth.

We probably went to different schools together. Probably have different parents. Probably have lots of time on our hands. What do we do with it, we train the next collectors who continue when we are gone. That is how we are remembered. (Rather than being the old guy they will not miss when we're gone.)
