I'm sorting thru my Foreign Coins and came across this 5 cent piece with a definitely different surface.

I unfortunately don't have another 1952 to compare it to, so I put it next to my next oldest Nickel from 1968 for comparison.

Two photos from above, and two from angle to get better light on surface.

Any help or input will be appreciated.

The 1952 one almost looks like aluminum.

Thanks again!

The missing chrome error will look very much like the '68
The chrome plating is quite evident on your '52 and beginning to wear off of the high spots.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Thank you.
I don't see the chrome "look" but that's why I brought it to the experts.
Thank you for your time and input. I will move on.
Have a safe and wonderful day!

If it has a bluish tint, it's chrome plated.
