A Greaser would result in flat, wide devices as the higher relief areas would be clogged, but here we seem to be seeing the removal of the lower relief areas leaving behind the thinner high-relief areas of the devices. (If it were a grease issue, the devices would be enlarged not reduced. But there may have been an issue with the die on that area. Maybe a die dent was removed and thus affected those devices.
