Hi Silvercents, Comparing yours to the one on DD I can KINDOF see it (but the glare you mentioned not working with my old eyes) - do you see ether of the die gouges referenced on the site? Edit - here is what I am seeing enhanced a bit.. It appears to be in the right place? DE

I've given up on trying to attribute these things. Average ~25 per box, so it's just not worth doing more than tubing them to me. I just write "single squeeze DDR LMC doubling in center bay" on the label and call it a day lol

Yes I can find the die markers on this one, the die gouges. Sorry for these photos again, my microscope has a hard time with really bright coins.
Makes sense Sam. I haven't found a lot of these so I'm still 2x2ing them for the fun of it. Any coin that I 2x2, I post on here, unless they're die chips or other average errors. Might have to start doing that eventually too haha.

You are doing awesome SilverCents. I'm throwing away DDO / DDR cent's every day. I don't know to tell.

Thank you DeadElvis!
I hope that with time you will be able to tell. The key is repetition. I hope this forum is providing that for you.

Your's matches, I think you have it. I'm still learning, I would not know a DDO or DDR if one bit me on the ass. These head spikes are nice! I'll keep trying. Edit - replying to head spike thread, Sorry! I think you have the variety though. Once I dimmed it down it matches.

Thanks! Don't worry, we were all like that at the beginning, especially me. Took me a good two years of learning to come to what I know today. I still don't know very much, but I can most of the time tell if a coin is a DDO or DDR. Still have very much to learn, not very good with DDRs, or Class 6 Doubling. Head spike? What do you mean? Can you enlighten me?

Die cracks on the head. To me they are die events. Common as the rest of the life, that will will keep striking these and enlarge even more in time. I prefer die varieties that are present from the first strike until the last. Not die events.

Thank you Coop, I do know what Spike Heads are, but I thought he was referring to a variety on the reverse, relating to Lincoln in his chair.

This thread was about doubling on the statue bay, no? I might have made a mistake mentioning head strikes. I think SilverCents has his DDR.

Yes it was indeed. The term "Spike Head" is when a die crack forms on the obverse, on Lincoln's head, or forehead. I thought that's what you were referring to when you said "Head Spike."
I simply call these "Doubled Bay"

No SilverCents I confused my topics from your head strike post. Forgive me and I will kindly back out of this thread. I do think you have the WDDR though.
Have a good evening all!

Oh I see, alright then. Well if you're referring to that post then yes that was a Spike Head, or a Head Spike as you call it. No need to apologize, we all get a bit confused sometimes. Thanks for your input!
You as well!
