Some research and I found the coin from a 2007 auction. NGC ms-61. What a totally different look. Identified by the reverse die variety, and close inspection reveals the unmistakable reverse squigly mark above the eagles beak, and the obverse hit below the eye. Obverse marks on the jaw and in the field to the left of the nose are also a dead giveaway. No doubt it is the same coin. The photos that make it look PL were obviously juiced and made these marks tough to see. I was real close to buying until I uncovered the old auction photos. The dealer is what I would call unscrupulous, and that's being nice. Won't even consider buying from him in the future. Great way to establish a reputation, huh? This is also on
ebay, should it be pulled, or are pics a buyer beware problem?
