All I see DDD on the 3 aka poor mans doubled die. Is that your question?

I agree, looks like the die was wearing out ( Die Deterioration Damage)on the 3 and the I. Doubling should be on all letters if its going to be in both Date and Liberty.

The 1953 and 1955 had a lot lot of die wear issues on them.
