Note the devices above that area. The same Machine Doubling is seen on them also. When the other devices are affected the same, then it is Machine Doubling. The addition of the mintmark is a separate process and wouldn't show the same affect as the devices.

Thanks CoinHunter17 and coop. I must say coop the diagrams you put on my 1973 D Kennedy is amazing how you can do that. I'm not that computer smart

Well with 3\4 of a full image of the coin, of the tops and bottoms of the coin, I can crop them to the same widths. If I'm missing an edge rim, I borrow it from another area of the coin. Then layer the two images into one. Check to make sure that on isn't vertically distorted. Adjusting topic the issues. Then after creating the layer erase were the edges meet slightly to make it appear as one image that was that way to begin with. Same for the other side. Pretty simple after you've done this tens of thousands of times.
